From Monolingual to Polyglot
Originally from San Diego, David Allen Martin II began his journey as a monolingual English speaker. Today, he is a celebrated Germanist and accent trainer who speaks German like a native and is fluent in Spanish as well as speaking Italian, French, Dutch and Mandarin Chinese to varying degrees of fluency.
His approach combines academic rigor with applied technology and 20 years of experience learning languages. With degrees from UC Berkeley (German) and the University of Göttingen (Germanic Linguistics), plus advanced German & Spanish translation studies at the University of Heidelberg, David helps learners bridge the gap between the science of language learning and the art of speaking it.
